    Optical fiber cable is mainly composed of optical fiber (a glass fiber as fine as hair), plastic casing and plastic sheathing, and inside there is no gold, silver, copper or aluminum, so it¡¯s not worth recycling. Optical fiber cable is a kind of telecommunication line that consists of certain number of optical fiber in a certain mode as the core, with outer sheathing and some outer coating on some that is used to transmit optical signals. Optical fiber cable is a main means of transmission in the information age and the information network. If the Internet is known as an information super highway, then the optical fiber network is a cornerstone on this super highway ¨C a physical routing for the Internet.
     As optical fiber is a kind of transmission medium, it can transmit phone or computer data and so on like a general copper wire.
